MENLO PARK, CA – Facebook is expected to announce a new policy regarding controversial ‘deepfake’ videos.

The social media powerhouse has drafted a policy that specifically targets ‘deepfake’ videos which give CEO Mark Zuckerberg more geniality and charisma.

“We’re entering a new world when it comes to disinformation,” said Facebook spokesperson John Pinette, “and we think it’s imperative our user base isn’t misinformed regarding Mr. Zuckerberg.”

Facebook has been under the microscope for its handling of numerous videos showing politicians with altered speech or mannerisms.

“There’s a red line when it comes to the representation of those in power and Facebook will diligently protect democracy,” continued Mr. Pinette.

Facebook isn’t immune to controversial policies, as late last year the company made an announcement regarding the future of their cryptocurrency.
