Volkswagen crew brought in to tackle oil sands emissions issues

EDMONTON, AB – The Government of Alberta has contracted a group of leading emission standards experts to help the province overcome reporting requirements for greenhouse gas emissions from oil and gas development.
The experts brought in most recently assisted Volkswagen AG in passing emission standards tests in automobiles in the European Union, the United States and Canada.
“I think it’s time our province took a new approach to how we calculate emissions,” stated Alberta Premier Jason Kenney at a small press briefing.
“Unlike the prior government, we’re looking to hire industry leaders with a proven track record of results," Mr. Kenney continued.
