TORONTO, ON – A private equity firm in downtown Toronto completed renovations over the holiday break.

Renovations included the installation of a ceiling made of glass between two floors of their office building.

BlackGem Capital Inc. houses analysts and other junior employees on the 32nd floor with senior partners on the 33rd floor.

A spokesperson for BlackGem said the glass ceiling is meant to act as a motivation tool for young employees and also cited this as a progressive step for the firm.

“We want to show that we don’t care about your gender, race, education or your level of experience,” the spokesperson said, “what’s important is that everyone is together under the glass ceiling, equally.”
