TORONTO, ON – During the final deliverable of a 6-month engagement investigating the implementation of a new management consultancy software program, the lead consultant recommended their client not implement such a solution.
As disruption continues to hit more industries, management consulting is not immune. New software using artificial intelligence may soon replace a number of management consultants brought in to research solutions for their clients.
“There is no reason for companies and government organizations to spend needless cash on a computer program to tell them how to implement something they’re likely to fail at anyway,” said one senior consultant who wasn’t authorized to speak on the record.
It’s estimated that management consulting is a $10+ billion industry in Canada, so it should not come as a surprise that the industry is pushing back.
“It should be a person that delivers a 90 minute, 60-slide presentation, not a software program,” concluded the consultant.
