SEATTLE, WA – Workers at Amazon’s fulfillment centers around the United States have petitioned the web retailing giant to allow them to work from home up to 3 days per week.
The proposed arrangement surfaces as more workers are fighting for the right to unionize in Amazon warehouses.
“Flexible work arrangements showcased so prominently at offices of these tech companies should also apply to workers who pick, pack, and ship orders,” stated Peter Addison, a pro-union advocate.
Providing employees a flexible work schedule, including remote work, is a growing trend in the technology sector to help companies retain workers.
An Amazon spokesperson declined to comment.
